Cookies and browser storage

Short, because there is not much to say: no tracking, no analytics and no advertising. Here is everything that ends up in your browser and why.

01Summary

programmable.marketing is run by Programmable, LLC. We do not use analytics, advertising, social media or tracking cookies, and we load no third-party scripts. Our fonts are served from our own domain, so loading a page does not contact Google Fonts or any other font service.

The only things stored in your browser are strictly necessary: one local storage entry for a feature you ask for, and security cookies that our network provider may set. Strictly necessary storage does not need consent under the EU ePrivacy rules or the UK PECR, which is why we do not show a cookie banner.

02Exactly what is stored

  • growth-plan:key:<plan id>
Purpose:Local storage, set by us on a plan page when you open it with your private edit link (from the plan-ready email or after purchase). It remembers the edit key so you can keep updating idea statuses and notes without the link. It is sent to us only when you change a status or note, to show you may edit, and is never shared with anyone else.
Type and duration:Strictly necessary. Stays until you clear your browser storage for this site.
  • __cf_bm
Purpose:Cookie that Cloudflare, our network and security provider, may set to tell people from bots and protect the site from abusive traffic. It does not identify you and is not used for tracking.
Type and duration:Strictly necessary. 30 minutes.
  • Other Cloudflare security cookies (for example cf_clearance)
Purpose:Only set if Cloudflare shows a security check, to remember that you passed it.
Type and duration:Strictly necessary. Up to the lifetime Cloudflare sets for the check, typically 30 minutes to 1 day.

Local storage is not a cookie, but the same rules apply to it, so we list it here. You can remove it at any time in your browser settings. If you do, you can restore editing by opening the edit link from your plan-ready email again.

03What we do not use

  • No analytics tools (such as Google Analytics, Plausible or PostHog).
  • No advertising or retargeting pixels.
  • No embedded social media widgets, videos or chat tools that set their own cookies.
  • No fingerprinting or cross-site tracking.

05Controlling storage in your browser

All browsers let you view and delete cookies and local storage, and block them for a site. Blocking Cloudflare’s security cookies may mean you are shown security checks more often. Blocking local storage means you will need your edit link each time you want to update a plan. The rest of the site works without either.
